Day three at Cannes Lions was once again filled with more seminars and more parties. However, in between those I did enjoy hearing from Porter Novelli. I think that their agency would be a great place for me to work in the future. Julie Winskie was very interesting.
I went to five seminars today. The first of which was AgenciaClick Isobar and Fiat. Honestly, I only sat through that to have good seats for Martha. IPG and Womens Leadership Network had an amazing panel today that included Martha Stewart. She is such a great icon for high powered women, despite the prison stint. This seminar was actually interesting compared to the rest of the panels I have sat in on. Everyone was animated and on topic for once. However, the woman from China had very conflicting things to say. Apparently in China there are no gender gaps and women easily reach high executive positions. If this is in fact the case then I need to learn Chinese immediately and relocate.
The third seminar I went to was Yahoo with Robert Redford. He is hilarious and you can tell he loves what he does and really makes the most out of live. It was very easy to listen to him. Today was actually a very easy day because most seminars were not necessarily advertising related, but more like personal stories. Coke was my fourth seminar of the day. Everyone worshiped them. It was slightly ridiculous. I feel like they could have just stood there and said Coke is amazing and people would have still gotten crazy. While their presentation was interesting, I don’t think it was anything earth shattering.
The last seminar of the day was Angry Birds. I found this very fun because Paige and I met the Angry Birds guys the night before. They are very nice and love to chat. They also love Angry Birds more than anything. It is truly like a lifestyle for them.
Can’t wait for day four!
