Day four at Cannes Lions

Day four at Cannes Lions has come to an end and I am exhausted. Instead of the familiar seminar route I’ve been taking the past couple of days I decided to sleep in and catch the train in time to make it to our 11:00 meeting with Jennifer Frommer. I loved how willing she seems to help. She actually seems like she would help you get a job instead of just telling good luck and sending you on your way. I also liked that she got excited about Eminem. It shows that she loves what she is doing.
After meeting with Jennifer I caught the second half of David Simon’s seminar before we met with him at the Majestic aka where I wish I was living. David Simon is obviously very intelligent, but seems to be incredibly cynical. However, a lot of what he said went over my head. As soon as he started talking about Wall Street he lost me. I am considering watching his shows though now that I know a little more about them.
Our last meeting of the day with Allison Arden was probably my favorite. She was so interested in learning about us and what we are looking for. By doing so she personalized everything and was able to help people understand things they are truly interested in.
To wrap up the day I attended the Leo Burnett seminar before hitting up the Google beach area. While Leo Burnett wasn’t the best presentation I’ve seen so far they definitely weren’t the worst. They showed cool campaigns and had insightful things to say despite being a little bit boring.
After day for at Cannes Lions I am exhausted. I don’t know how these ad executives do it!
