Day six at Cannes Lions was a short day for me. I think that we are all exhausted and a little burned out on advertising. I have consumed so much information in the past week that I’m not even sure how to process it yet. However, having too much information is better than having too little.
Today I attended HP Graphic Arts and BBDO’s Creative Engineering master class. Marcos Medeiros defiantly has a very interesting career. His Billboard Music campaign was really attention grabbing and I really wish I would have volunteered so I could get a picture of me made out of famous music artists. That’s what I get for hesitating. Besides me being insanely jealous of the three who will receive cool free pictures, I enjoyed the presentation. It was a little hard to follow with his accent, but the purpose of the campaign still came across. I feel like the idea seems really obvious now that I’ve heard it, but I would have never been able to come up with something like that. Maybe good ideas just come with practice. I also really enjoyed hearing from Chris Hall of BBDO. He was so friendly and offered some great advice.
I can’t wait for tomorrow as it’s the last day of the festival and the film awards. Hopefully we will be able to work our way into the closing gala as well.
